According to a Police media release, a 21-year-old male was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon in the public.

The incident happened on the 1st Jan 2020 at around 12.15 AM, Two men were stopped by Public Transport Security Command(The group of uniform man in blue and grey beret, that is often seen in MRT stations) and conducted a check on the two men.
One of the men tried to run away but was successfully detained by the officers on site.
The officers conducted a search on the man and found a knife on him, he was immediately placed under arrest.
The man will be charged today for carrying an offensive weapon in the public.

If he is convicted of the crime, he will be looking at up to 3 years jail along with up to 6 strokes of the cane.
