A 23-year-old man was arrested on Thursday (10 March 2016) for attacking and injuring a police officer with a knife.
Police had received a complaint under the Computer Misuse and Cybersecurity Act that day and responded by conducting an operation at a home near Geylang East Avenue 1.
The office manage to spot the suspect had approached him and identified themselves, the man suddenly pulled out a knife and started attacking the office which caused one office to being slash a deep wound on his right arm.
The police quickly subdued and arrested the man, while the injured officer was send to a nearby hospital. But luckily after the treatment his stable.
A follow up search of the suspect’s home had also uncovered items suspected to be drug paraphernalia and controlled drugs.
CID respond that police work is not risk free and there is dangers involved.
The man will be charged in court on Saturday (12 March) for voluntarily causing hurt with a dangerous weapon. If convicted, vacation in jail for 7 years and or pay a fee for his actions. or he suay suay backside got piak
