A 31-year-old man was arrested on the 12 Sep 2020 after a high-speed car chase with the police along Canberra Street. The driver was arrested for dangerous driving, driving without a valid licence and drug-related offence. Two men were in the car at that time of the incident and the passenger is currently on the run.
Several videos of the incident have been uploaded on the social media, a white vehicle was seen driving against the traffic before mounting a kerb and come to a complete stop. A man was seen exiting the vehicle and escaping on foot.
According to the police, at around 1.10 am on the 12 Sep 2020, Traffic police officers were patrolling along CTE (SLE) near Ang Mo Kio Ave 1 where they spotted a driver driving slowly on the extreme right lane.
The Traffic police then signalled the driver to pull over for a routine check but he did not comply. Instead, the driver sped off immediately which led to the car chase. The police are currently looking for the passenger who escaped the scene. Investigations are ongoing. Â
