The Singapore Sailing Federation’s (SSF) executive director has said that four of their officials had tested positive at the Southeast Asian Sailing Championship in Sihanoukville, Cambodia
Three of the officials were asymptomatic while one of them had a mild fever.
They had all tested positive one week after entering into Cambodia.
Confined at official residence
All four officials have been confined to their official residence at the meet and have not been in close contact or interacting with anyone else at the meet as per Cambodian regulations.
The Singapore contingent comprising of seven sailors and the sailing coach were not tested positive, and have been travelling separately to Cambodia, are working and living in different areas.
The officials are confined to their own residence as well as the sailors, with regular Antigen Rapid Tests (ART) conducted.
Safe distancing measures
The SSF and Cambodian organisers have put in place strict safe distancing measures at the meet, including the interaction of other participants in the meet.
The Singapore contingent had also underwent all the necessary testing regimes for travel and have all been vaccinated against the virus and have taken a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test.
