Mr Desmond Toh, 42, who was recently laid of from his F&B jon at Resort World Sentosa stated that he is thankful that he managed to get a job with the help of e2i, the National Trades Union Congress’ (NTUC) Employment and Employability Institute.

He further said that even though he will take a pay cut of around a third of his salary, he is still thankful of having a job as he is the breadwinner in a family of seven.
“I was so happy to receive news of getting a new job so soon after I was retrenched that I broke down over the phone,” said Mr Toh, who will be a server and pack food for deliveries at a Chinese restaurant.
