In a somber turn of events, a 46-year-old male motorcyclist tragically lost his life following a collision with a vehicle at the junction of Upper Aljunied Road and Bidadari Park Drive on the evening of September 11, 2023.
The Accident Unfolds
On the evening of September 11, 2023, a passerby captured the aftermath of a harrowing accident that unfolded at the junction of Upper Aljunied Road and Bidadari Park Drive, involving a motorcycle and a car.
The Scene of the Tragedy
According to the video recorded by the passerby, the motorcycle was seen lying flat on the road, with pieces of the bike strewn haphazardly on the asphalt, serving as a stark reminder of the violence of the collision.
Another blue vehicle was also seen stopped along the road near the motorcycle’s wreckage.
Police Respond to the Incident
The Singapore Police Force said that they received a call for help at about 8.14 and after being alerted to the accident, proceeded to the accident scene where the motorcyclist was found unconscious.
The motorcyclist was rushed to the hospital. However, despite the best efforts of the medical team, the 46-year-old succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
The driver of the vehicle, a 38-year-old man, is cooperating fully with the ongoing police investigations, which are currently underway.
Similar accidents
Just last month, a 27-year-old motorcyclist was killed after a collision with a truck along the Central Expressway (CTE) on 20 August, with the 57-year-old truck driver assisting the police with their investigations.
A few police vehicles were seen stopped in the middle lane of the expressway, and a blue tent used to cover up dead bodies was seen set up nearby, along with another tipper truck.
The Singapore Police Force said that they were alerted to the accident along the CTE at about 6.25am, after Breaddel Road and heading towards the Seletar Expressway (SLE).
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
