A 54-year-old man was sentenced to 45 years in prison after pleading guilty to 6 charged of aggravated rape against three of the victims from 2002 to 2018.
According to The Straits Times, he had offered to tutor the victims and lied to their parents that he was a qualified educational therapist, with some of the victims having learning and physical disabilities.
A total of 8 children were sexually assaulted, with two of the female victims being only 5-years-old when he raped them.
He also recorded videos of the assault, lasting for about 17 minutes.
His crimes came to light in 2018 when he sold his laptop and the buyer found the obscene images on it and called the police.
The man cannot be identified due to a court order protecting the victims’ identities.
High Court judge Ang Cheng Hock described his crimes as “exceptionally sickening” and highlighted how the victims were multiple children of such a young age.
