6 people were stuck inside a lift, along with a deceased loved one, during a funeral procession at Block 760 Jurong West Street 64.
The incident purportedly happened on 4 October.
The six persons were carrying the deceased’s body when the lift got stuck, trapping them inside the lift for 50 minutes. They were subsequently rescued by personnel from the Singapore Civil Defence Force.
Facebook user Keine Brutalitat, shared photos of the incident on Facebook, captioning it:
“04/10/2022: 6 people and a deceased were trap in a lift for 50 minutes at Blk 760 Jurong West St 74. Five lift technicians and a team from the SCDF were called.
Friends & relatives had to pierce the lift door from outside with an umbrella to create a gap for ventilation. Two people were seen fanning at the gap to cool the air inside the lift.
Residents claimed that such incidents happened there quite frequently. While lift was jammed that day, lift B could hold 3 people or else it overload.”
