A 60-year-old man has been charged on 30 Oct 2020 with molestation that involved a 12-year-old boy.
According to the court document, the incident happened on the 22 Oct 2020 around 11 am at a flat along Bedok North Street 3. The court heard that the accused allegedly pulled down the victim’s shorts and underwear before molesting him.
According to the police, a report was made one day (23 Oct) after the incident. After investigations, the police identified the identity of the accused with the aid of the police camera. The accused was later arrested on 28 Oct 2020.
The accused is currently out on bail of $8,000 and the case was adjourned to 27 Nov 2020. According to the law, anyone convicted for molesting a minor below the age of 14 years old could face a jail term up to 5 years, fined or caned.
