
According to a police media release, a 63-year-old man has been investigated for lodging a false police report.
It was reported that on the 09 Nov 2020, the man has lodged a police report claiming that the budget vouchers belonging to him and his co-tenant has been stolen.
However, investigations revealed otherwise as CCTV at the man’s block shows that he might be the one who had stolen his co-tenant vouchers.
Apparently, the man has lied to his co-tenant about not receiving the budget vouchers. In order to not be suspected by his co-tenant, he proceeded to lodge a false police report.
If convicted for his offence the man could face up to 3 years of jail term, fine or both for theft. For providing false information to a public servant, he could face up to 2 years of jail term, fine or both.
