A chain collision took place on 28 October along the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) involving 5 vehicles, with 7 people sent to the hospital.
The impact of the chain collision was so great that two workers were reportedly flung out of one of the vehicles (a lorry).
A taxi driver was also sent to the hospital, along with the 6 workers inside the lorry.
Shin Min Daily News reported that the accident took place on 28 October at about 8am along the PIE, after the Changi South Avenue 3 exit.
A video emerged online showing the aftermath of the chain collision, with the bonnet of the taxi being destroyed.
A black car and a lorry were stopped by the road shoulder, with the roof of the lorry being wrecked after the accident.
The affected vehicles included a taxi, 2 lorries and 2 BMWs.
A spokesperson for ComfortDelGro said that their taxi driver had slowed to a stop after seeing the vehicles in front slowing down, but the lorry behind couldn’t stop in time and crashed into the taxi.
The SCDF confirmed the accident and said that 7 people were sent to Changi General Hospital, 6 of the victims were workers in one of the lorries, aged between 25 to 35.
