93 ARRESTED INCL DAUGHTER & FATHER, $78,000 WORTH OF DRUGS SEIZED

In a recent island wide operation conducted by the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) from 27 Feb to 4 Mar, 93 suspects were arrested and $78,000 worth of drugs were seized.

The drugs which were seized by the CNB includes:

  • 1,059g of heroin
  • 19g of Ice
  • 48g of New Psychoactive Substances (NPS)
  • 13 Ecstasy tablets
  • One Erimin-5 tablet
  • Two bottles of morphine
  • One bottle of methadone

The operation conducted by the CNB officers included raids in areas like Bedok, Tampines and Toa Payoh.

27 Feb raid in Circuit Road

A residential unit at Circuit Road in MacPherson was also raided by CNB officers on 27 Feb.

Two Singaporean men were subsequently arrested for their alleged involvement in drug offences, they were aged 40 and 51.

The 51 year old man put resisted the arrest by CNB officers and appropriate force was used against him to bring him down.

Items seized from the two men included:

  • 3g of heroin
  • 2g of Ice
  • 946g of heroin
  • Various drug paraphernalia
  • One knife

28 Feb raid in Clementi

Eight were arrested in the raid which took place in the early hours of 28 Feb at Clementi.

The eight arrested includes six Singaporean men who are between the ages of 49 and 71, two women which consists of a 49 year old Singaporean and a 53 year old foreigner.

The occupants had refused to comply with instructions to open up and therefore force was used by CNB officers to enter the flat.

Items seized from the flat includes:

  • 2g of heroin
  • 0.5g of Ice
  • Various drug paraphernalia

Investigations are ongoing against all arrested suspects and it was revealed that a pair which was arrested shared a father and daughter relationship.

The father is a 71 year old Singaporean while the daughter is a 49 year old Singaporean.

Penalties

According to Singapore laws, any persons who are found to have trafficked more than 15g or pure heroin might face the mandatory death penalty.
