935 CASES IN S’PORE, CHINATOWN COMPLEX CLUSTER GROWS TO 256 CASES

The Ministry of Health (MOH) verified 935 new coronavirus cases in Singapore on Friday (17 September), bringing the overall number of cases in the country to 75,783.

There are twelve clusters that are currently active. The MOH said that COVID-19 clusters in Singapore are being continuously monitored. Three of them are linked to employees at Toa Payoh, Tampines, and Punggol bus interchanges.

The cluster at Blue Stars dorm had the newest cases added to it from the list of monitored clusters, with 17 new cases. According to the MOH, the cluster currently includes 71 cases of “intra-dormitory transmission” among inhabitants, who are all being examined.

Eight more cases have been added to the Chinatown Complex cluster, bringing the total number of illnesses to 256, with the bulk of those infected being stallholders and helpers.

At Sembcorp Marine Admiralty Yard, two more cases have been added to the cluster, which currently has 26 illnesses. There are 23 staff personnel and three household connections among them.
