The 96-year-old former prime minister of Malaysia, Mahathir Mohamad, was hospitalised previously for the third time in a little over a month.
He has since provided a video update on Twitter on his health and spoke about his situation, appearing sickly as he spoke in a very frail voice, saying that he hopes to make a full recovery.
He was seen in the video walking very slowly and having a little chat with his wife and although he looks sickly, he appears to be in good spirits.
A hospital wristband was also spotted on his hand as he read from a newspaper on a sofa.
Mahathir’s daily routine now involves him going home from morning until the evening, where he would then return to the National Heart Institute.
He has been allowed to return home from 2 February onwards and is currently receiving a number of treatments at the institute, including physiotherapy.
He also thanked those who have offered him their prayers of recovery, along with those who gave him get well soon cards and flowers.
