Finance Minister Lawrence Wong has just mentioned that some pandemic restrictions such as allowing household members to dine in together will be eased if the weekly infection rates drops to below 1.
1 is a ratio of the weekly infection rate of cases for the past week as compared to the previous.
This ratio was at 1.5 previously but has already dropped to just above 1, says Minister Wong.
Minister Wong also acknowledged that there are a lot of questions as to why the Government chooses to ease restrictions in certain fields but not the others.
He mentioned that the Government is doing their best to take a balanced approach and not go to any extreme ends or staying stagnant.
Opening up liberally is also not a wise choice as it can ultimately still put pressure on Singapore’s healthcare system.
