According to the Singapore Civil Defence Force, a fire occurred along CTE towards SLE.

When SCDF firefighters arrived on the scene they saw the vehicle crash against the tunnel walls and burning fiercely.
SCDF used one compressed air foam jet. to put out the fire. The driver was conveyed to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.
SCDF said:
“There were no other reported injuries. SCDF’s investigation revealed that after the vehicle had crashed into the wall, two members of the public quickly rescued the driver to safety. “
“Shortly after, the vehicle burst into flames. SCDF has reached out to the two good Samaritans and commended them for their quick-thinking and selfless act.”
