A netizen shared her encounter with the infamous “mechanics” who appear inexplicably during traffic accidents to scam people.
The netizen, Julie Wulandari, wrote on Facebook:
“Got into a teeny accident yesterday on the expressway and within a minute, these two came swooping in, insisting to help us even though we keep saying we don’t need help.
Kept harassing us and the other driver, even took photos of our cars saying he is a mechanic he just want to help, this is part of his business.
And we keep saying there’s nothing for him to help. but keep harassing us.
So we did the most logical thing which is to call the police. the moment we called the police, both vehicles left and we could settle with the other party in peace.
If you were to get into an accident and one of these “heroes” come and harass you insisting to help, keep calm and call the police.
Remember, the police are our friend. road accident scammers are not.”
Not the first of such incident
This is not the first time these scammers have made the headlines, with their antics being heavily reported by their victims who have suffered losses via exorbitant charges by the “mechanics”.
