The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) said in a press release that they conducted a 2-week operation to crack down on drug transactions on Telegram between 16 to 30 November.
50 suspected drug offenders were arrested by CNB and about $20,400 worth of drugs were seized in the operations.
The islandwide operations were conducted in places such as Ang Mo Kio, Hougang, Pasir Ris, Boon Lay, among others.
Among the arrested was a 20-year-old Singaporean male after CNB officers intercepted a vehicle near Punggol and found 21 packets containing 16 grams of Ice, 247 grams of cannabis, 9 grams of ketamine, 30 Ecstacy tablets, 6 LSD stamps, and an Erimin-5 tablet.
A follow-up operation was subsequently conducted and a 35-year-old man was then arrested near Sengkang, and 25 grams of cannabis was found on him.
CNB said in their statement that they are aware of drug trafficking syndicates using Telegram for their transactions and are monitoring them carefully.
At the time of writing, investigations against the suspects are still ongoing.
