A video emerged online showing a PMD riding illegally on the expressway, speeding along the expressway shoulder.
The netizen who shared the video said:
“I was travelling at around 50 km/hr as there is traffic build up at the CTE exit 8b. Then I saw this PMD rider riding along the expressway shoulder trying to exit towards Braddell road. ”
The incident happened along the CTE before the Braddell Road exit on 30 November at around 6.30pm.
Potential penalties
PMDs are not allowed on the roads in Singapore and it is an offence to ride a device on the road that it is prohibited from.
Persons found guilty of the offence faces a fine of up to $2,000 and a jail term of up to 3 months.
It is also illegal to ride any more of bicycles including PMDs/PMAs on the expressways.
