ACTIVIST GILBERT GOH CHARGED IN COURT, DECLARES HE WILL “GO TO JAIL IN DEFIANCE”

Singaporean activist Gilbert Goh, 60-years-old, is due to be charged in court today (15 December) for carrying out a public assembly without a permit as well as refusing to sign a police statement.

He had allegedly staged a protest on 1 May near the ICA building by holding a sign that says: “Please ban all flights from India we are not racist! Just being cautious”.

He then posted a photo of the act onto Facebook.

Goh also allegedly refused to sign a statement that he gave to the police when he was being investigated for the incident.

He was then given a stern warning on Tuesday for refusing to do so and also for non-compliance of the conditions for organizers of assemblies.

God then shared on his Facebook page the charges that he is facing and said that he will “go to jail in defiance”, as he appealed to Singaporeans to “unite together for a better society”.
