A private clinic doctor in Malaysia has been arrested for selling fake vaccination certificates.
Malaysian media reported on January 11, 2022, that a doctor from a private clinic in Malaysia was arrested by the police last Saturday for allegedly selling fake vaccination certificates.
The doctor would sell those certificated from RM400 to RM600.
The police investigations revealed that he had sold more than 1,900 copies and made a profit of nearly RM1 million (about S$320,000) in four months.
The Police said in a press conference that a 51-year-old doctor was arrested, and they managed to seize a large number of vaccination certificates, vaccine purchase receipts, and documents.
He said the suspects had been selling fake certificates since September last year and these certificates were sold to those who had not been vaccinated.
The police also found that the suspect’s customers came from multiple areas in Kuala Lumpur and Kedah, and the entire transaction was completed by the suspect alone.
He said that the current police investigation into the case is progressing smoothly, but the police urgently need the cooperation of the public, especially those who have not been vaccinated and purchased vaccination certificates from the doctor.
