The Minister for Communications and Information and Second Minister for Home Affairs, Josephine Teo, shared a Facebook update earlier today about visiting the ICA officers on duty at Woodlands Checkpoint during the Chinese New Year period.
She said that she is heartened by their dedication and thanked them for safeguarding Signaproe’s borders during the festive period.
Here is her Facebook post in full
Visited the officers on duty at Woodlands Checkpoint during Chinese New Year.
ICA is responsible for securing our borders and our officers at the checkpoint have been working hard to enhance our border processes to allow a smoother and safer immigration clearance experience.
Since January, travellers using the manual immigration counters at Woodlands Checkpoint are able to self-scan their passports to reduce physical contact and glass shields have been installed as an additional layer of protection.
The officers understand the importance of their roles and I am heartened by their dedication.
Thank you for safeguarding our borders during the festive period!
