MRT HACK: SAVE 16 MIN TRAVELLING WEST TO EAST & VICE VERSA

A Tiktoker has shared a time saving hack while travelling from West to East or East to West via the Downtown line.

The Downtown Line connects both ends of Singapore to one another and in the middle of the journey, makes a loop in the central area of Singapore to cover most of the Central Business District (CBD) and areas with high human traffic in Singapore such as Bugis, Downtown, Telok Ayer and Chinatown to name a few.

This makes the total time taken in the journey from one end to another, Bukit Panjang to Expo or Expo to Bukit Panjang to approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes

Loophole discovered

However, someone recently discovered a loophole where you can save up to almost 16 minutes of travel time.

This loophole lies somewhere in the middle of the route and we are about to share it with everyone.

The circled area in the map above shows two stations, Rochor and Jalan Besar.

The travel time by train from these two stations via the Downtown Line is approximately 16 minutes as the train will have to go one round around the CBD before circling back to Jalan Besar.

However, the two stations are actually almost just beside each other on land and by walking.

According to the Tiktoker, walking time between both stations takes the most 1-2 minutes and this will save the whole travelling time by approximately 10-15 minutes.

If you want to save time travelling in future, why not try to alight at either Jalan Besar or Rochor and walk over to the other station to continue the journey.
