A girl shared how wearing a mask makes her feel safe, not just from the coronavirus, but from creeps as well because it allows her to hide her face.
Here is the story
My mask makes me feel safe at work from more than just the virus.
I work in the service industry as a waitress. I hadn’t served in years but started again last year.
On multiple occasions I had people ask me to pull my mask down so “they could see my face” or ” see what I look like” “oh you have such pretty eyes I want to see your whole face”.
And it’s been so nice being able to just tell people no sorry, you can’t gawk at me, I’m wearing this for my own protection.
I feel like I’ve grown accustomed to having my mask on most as a way to hide from creepy people.
It seems to deter people from hitting on me since for all they know behind my mask may not be as pretty as they think.
When I worked as a waitress before, I feel like I got creeped on at least twice a week, now it never happens and it feels so nice!
I’m just having a crisis now because eventually one day, we won’t be required to wear masks anymore, and I really don’t want to stop wearing it.
It really makes me feel safe from more than just the virus.
