Wildlife can be a big part of life depending on where you are in Singapore. Some areas like Bukit Panjang got wild boar while some areas like Mandai got the Sambar Deer.
A netizen stopped his vehicle after spotting a Sambar Deer who is crossing the street. One can tell that the deer is cautious when crossing the road.
In a video shared on Facebook group Singapore Wildlight sightings on March 5, the driver shared a video of how the animal inches carefully before crossing the road.
In the 40s, the animal was thought to be extinct in Singapore due to habitat loss. But Singapore Biodiversity Records 2014 states that the deer might have escaped from the zoo therefore many of them are often spotted in Mandai area.
In 2017,the Nature Society (Singapore) estimated that there are lesser 20 Sambar deer in Singapore.
