On March 12, a Chinese-American girl in New York, USA exposed her experience of facing racial discrimination in the New York subway not long ago on social media.
The Chinese-American netizen, Katkoral, went to Manhattan with her friends to watch a play on March 5. She was in a good mood, but something bad happened on the way home.
A Caucasian man yelled in the crowded car, saying “Chinese people should leave my country, why are you here, you need to go back!”
When the girl saw that he was targeting two other Asian women in the car, she walked over to stand between the man and them, and the two Asians got off the bus in a hurry at the next stop.
However, the white man did not stop his abusive remarks!
Katkoral asked his friend, “Should we get out of the car?”, looked, and the door closed!
The white man started harassing an Asian man again. Katkoral couldn’t stand it anymore, so he started recording and filming videos to protect the Asian community!
When the white man saw that she was recording a video, he immediately aimed at the Chinese girl!
The white man continued to curse: “All Asians should die, I have the right to say that.”
Katkoral replied, “I also have the right to shoot you, because you are talking about racist remarks, I do this to protect myself, this is not illegal!”
The white man said arrogantly: “Why did you come to the United States, why didn’t the United States immigrate to you?”
Katkoral then responded, “Is this your country? Are you a Native American? Why are you grabbing Native American land? Where are you from?”
The white man said, “I was born in America.”
“I was born in New York, and the hospital where I was born is only a few blocks away,” Katkoral said.
The white man said: “I don’t care, I’m a racist, I’m targeting Asians!”
Katkoral wrote in a blog post that there were about 67 passengers in the carriage when he was attacking him, and they stood by my side one by one, providing me with protection and support!
During this time, someone in the carriage must have called the police because the subway was parked at the 42nd Street station and the man was eventually arrested.
