A 41-yeare-old man from Penang, Ah Ling, won Malaysia’s Supreme TOTO’s biggest prize money of RM95 million (RM 95,036,321.25 to be exact).
The prize money is Malaysia’s biggest jackpot in history.
The total jackpot was RM97.7 million, of which Ah Ling took RM95 million while the other prize winner took RM2.7 million.
Ah Ling said that he only bought the ticket after the jackpot reached RM70 million and all his friends were talking about it, so he just tried his luck.
He then bought a set of numbers that he got from his family’s age and birthdates, continuing to buy tickets as the jackpot snowballed and nobody had won yet.
After realising that he had won, he and his wife slapped each other to make sure that it was not a dream, and he was so shocked that he couldn’t sleep for 2 nights.
He then requested for 2 cheques when collecting his prize money, with the other cheque going to his wife as he wanted to split the winnings with her.

The record-breaking RM97.75 million Supreme Toto 6/58 Jackpot, which is the largest lottery jackpot in the Malaysian history, was won by 2 lucky winners from Penang and Selangor on 30 March 2022.
The luckier winner from Penang, who won the bigger portion of the jackpot totalling RM95 million, told STM Lottery Sdn. Bhd. (formerly known as Sports Toto Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.) that he had not been able to sleep well for 2 consecutive nights since he found out that he was the winner.
The 41-year-old winner, who is a machinery supplier, said he only started to play Supreme Toto 6/58 when the jackpot hit RM70 million.
“Because of the social media hype, all of my friends were talking about it so I thought I should also try my luck.
“I bet on System 10 with my own combination of numbers which I got inspirations from the ages and birth dates of my family members, and I would change the combination after a few draws by replacing some of the numbers.
“My set of lucky numbers — 5, 12, 20, 22, 29 & 41 was the set of numbers I bet on for the last few draws before I won,” he said.
The winner said when he found out that he won the jackpot, he and his wife were both in disbelief.
“We had to literally slap each other to make sure that we were not dreaming,” he said, adding that he was still unable to accept the fact that he is now a multi-millionaire.
The winner said he wanted to use the winnings to pay off his debts and donate to charity and he would only think about how to use the newfound wealth later. His System 10 ticket won him a whopping RM95,036,321.25 and an additional bonus of RM173,152.00.
Another lucky winner from Selangor, who partially won the jackpot through EZ-Bet System 15, walked away with RM2,715,322.65 and an additional bonus of RM12,289.20.
Coincidentally, the second largest jackpot in Malaysia was also won by a Penangite who struck the RM69.6 million Grand Toto 6/63 jackpot on 13 September 2017, which makes Penang the luckiest place in the country.
