Minister of Defence Ng Eng Hen shared a video onto his Facebook lauding the SAF’s contributions in evacuation over 2,000 Afghans from Qatar to Germany, as well as being awarded medals for their efforts.
He also shared how those who served Singapore’s counter-terrorism efforts in the Middle East also received medals for their contributions.

This video captures the SAF’s contribution in evacuating over 2,000 Afghans from Qatar to Germany. It was shown before the SAF’s men and women on this mission were awarded their medals.
I am sure they and their loved ones with them at the ceremony felt extremely proud of their contributions.
Also receiving their medals were those who had served in our counter terrorism effort in the Middle East. That has been a 15 year deployment.
Just as in the evacuation mission, many lives were protected as a result of the SAF’s efforts with global partners against terrorism.
