MOTORISED WHEELCHAIR GOING 50KM/H SENGKANG WEST WAY

We often see errant cyclist or PMD riders on the road but a motorised wheelchair going at high speeds is something we don’t see everyday

According to SG Road Vigilante, a Grabfood motorised wheelchair was seen going highspeed at 50km/hour along Senkang East way on April 10 2205 HRS.

Netizens say wheelchair no COE

Netizens were poking fun at the recent $99,999 COE prices saying:

  • This one cheaper no need pay road tax, insurance etc
  • No wonder this appear.
  • They see me rollin’…… they hatin’…….
  • When a wheelchair go faster than a bus lol!
  • He uses a wheelchair with a motor attachment to the front of the wheelchair. That is definitely not legal.

Penalties

 Under the Active Mobility Act, it is an offence for PMDs to be used on roads, footpaths and/or pedestrian-only paths – PMDs are only allowed to be used on shared paths (cycling paths).

 Offenders caught riding their PMDs on the roads, footpaths and/or pedestrian-only paths, face a fine of up to $2,000 and/or a jail term of up to 3 months.

 Repeat offenders face a fine of up to $5,000 and/or a jail term of up to 6 months.
