Malaysia/KL – A 16-year-old girl has been arrested on suspicion of slashing a hired driver’s throat over an RM400 charge for a trip from Tangkak, Johor, to Kuala Lumpur.
According to Sentul district police commander Beh Eng Lai, the driver, 63, picked up the female passenger at Tangkak and drove her 164 kilometres to Kovil Hilir on Jalan Ipoh in Kuala Lumpur.
When the driver arrived, he informed the passenger that the fee was RM400, but the girl refused to pay since she did not have the money. After that, the driver decided to transport her to the nearest police station.
“Out of fear, the suspect then slashed the (driver’s) throat with a penknife and later ran away, leaving it in the car,” said Beh Eng Lai.
The man then drove to the Sentul police station for assistance and was later taken to the hospital
Arrest
The suspect was arrested on April 13 at 2.55 AM, if the teen is found guilty of voluntarily causing hurt with a weapon she can face a 10 year jail sentence.
