A family has discovered an unexploded bombshell in Golan Heights during a purported holiday trip to Israel.
The American family then caused mass panic at the Ben Gurion Airport’s departure hall when they tried to bring the unexploded bomb back home as a souvenir.
CCTV footage showed other travelers running for their lives and sprinting for cover, taking cover under benches from an explosion that they thought could happen.
One traveler was even injured after jumping over a baggage carousel to take cover.
The bomb was discovered at the check-in of the Ben Gurion Airport, resulting in the mass evacuation of people in the vicinity.
The Israel Airports Authority said that the family was ultimately allowed to board their flight following an interrogation by their security staff, who declared that they were in the clear.
Israel has been on high alert following several deadly attacks over the past few weeks, with isolated rocket fire from Gaza toward Israel.
