He had pleaded guilty to one count of voluntarily causing grievous hurt, with two other similar charges considered during his sentencing.

The incident h happened on 22 July last year at about 6.45pm, when he was cycling on a pavement near Block 96A Henderson Road.

Sivaskarthik rang his bell to alert a 63-year-old man who was walking in front of him while listening to a voice message on his phone, but failed to get his attention.

He then narrowly cycled past the man, who got upset and shouted at him, and the two then got into an argument.

Sivarkarthik then hit the man on his forehead, causing him to fall down, and he then continued raining blows on the man.

A couple of pedestrians witnessed the fight, with one of them trying to stop the fracas and another 56-year-old man filming the incident on his phone.

Sivarkarthik then confronted the pedestrian who was filming him attacking the victim, and he then punched him in the face.

The man fell down and Sivarkarthik then continued to hit him on the head several times, stopping only when he realised the man was bleeding in the face.

The second victim had used his hands to cover his head during the attack and didn’t fight back, and when he was sent to the hospital, it was revealed that he had a fracture in his eye socket, an eye haemorrhage and a gash on his face.
