Malaysian cosplayer, Chin Pui Ting, appeared at an anime conference on 16 May, dressing gup as a character from the anime Date A Live.
She was wearing a red corset dress at the festival held at Petaling Jaya.
She shared on her Twitter account about how she was stalked and harassed by a man at the festival, as well as the police report that she made
Here is what she said on Twitter
HI everyone, I’m (@deadpudds)
update: im fine, just posting to inform about what happened today
I have been harassed by this person at my booth today. He pushed towards my booth whilst screaming and crying asking me for a picture and to unblock him from discord.
Tldr: He stalked me today and yesterday and also online. We gave him multiple warnings to leave. He was threatening to hurt himself and refused to leave.
He has stalked me for a while now, both online and in physical events. He even trailed me to my car at the parking lot yesterday. More details in the police report attached.
Please send me all videos and pictures of him that was recorded during this incident ASAP, or send to this number now *phone number redacted*. I need to collect evidences of the assault as proof and bookkeeping.
Thanks everyone. Also big thank you to the Comic Fiesta and Paradigm Mall Petaling Jaya team for being very prompt and helpful towards the incident and situation.
Don’t worry about it. Just kinda frustrated that my experience boothing turned negative and my fans/ followers couldn’t get to meet & greet me properly Stay safe everyone! Im good
Here is the police report that she made

Police officer allegedly victim-blamed her.
Chin then shared in a series of tweets about how the police officer who attended to her allegedly made inappropriate remarks about her and blamed the stalking incident on her cosplay outfit.
He allegedly told her that she was in the wrong for dressing like that, and allegedly told her to go back to school and stop doing things like this.

Reported the officer to the authorities
In a lengthy Facebook update, Chin said that she has since given her statement to the Crime Department and JIPS about the police officer.
She said that she spent about 4 hours plus at the police station and clarified every single detail, and that it has been sent for investigation.
Here is her statement on Facebook
After 4 hours+ at the police station, I’ve given my statement to both the Crime Department (jenayah) and the JIPS (Jabatan Integrity dan Pematuhan Standard)
Ive clarified on my behalf each and every single detail and it has been sent for investigation. So far, I do not know if any action will be taken against the harasser or specific policeman. We’ll have to wait for further updates .
Victim blaming is unacceptable and I will always stand firmly against it. I hope my actions will inspire other victims to speak up through proper channels. If you’re a victim, never feel scared or threatened to speak up, your voice MUST be heard.
People who have misused their powers as officers can be reported through the Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (EAIC).
On my end, I’m severely exhausted from all the thinking and talking. Thank you all once again for your words of kindness and support. It means alot to me
Sincerely, with love, Pudds.
