A passerby, Mr Chua, spoke to SMDn saying that the incident took place at about 1.10pm.

According to Chua, a mother-of-two was with her children buying two drinks and paying for it with a $10 note, and got her change of $2 in a bunch of 10 cent and 20 cent coins.

The woman started arguing with the stall owner because she believed that she saw that they had $2 notes.

Chua pointed out that the mother didn’t have a bad attitude, but the female stall owner then got fiercer and louder.

He added that after that, he saw a scratch mark on the mother’s neck, with a plastic cup on the ground, and he thinks that it was thrown at her by someone.

The male stall owner was also allegedly hitting a kitchen knife on the counter in an attempt to intimidate the mother-of-two.

The woman’s daughter then started crying because she was scared and Chua then called the police, fearing things would get out of hand.

Six police officers then arrived at the scene.

The police confirmed with SMDN that a 37-year-old woman was conveyed to the hospital conscious and that a 23-year-old man is assisting with investigations.
