LED WREATHS BANNED BY MULTIPLE FUNERAL PARLOURS – POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD

Notices have been put up by multiple funeral parlours in Singapore, including Singapore Casket and Sin Ming Funeral Parlour, banning the use of LED funeral wreaths, according to Death Kopitiam Singapore.

The reason for this is because of safety concerns such as daily power trips and the wreaths being potential fire hazards.

Issued notices

Sin Ming Funeral Parlour’s notice reads:

“Dear valued customers,

We would like to inform you strictly no LED wreaths are allowed to place inside and outside Sin Ming Funeral Parlour.

Singapore Casket also pasted a notice with illustrations of the LED wreaths, saying:

“These electronic wreaths, or similar designs, inflatable towers such as lanterns, gates, arches, are not allowed to place inside Singapore Casket lavender parlours.

Singapore Casket reserves the right to dispose it without any prior notice if any.”

Power surge

A Sin Ming FUneral Parlour representative spoke to Shin Min Daily News, explaining that the decision was made due to fire risk and electrical safety concerns.

Another funeral parlour also said that they experienced a power surge caused by the LED wreaths which led to a power trip, and that their CCTV and router were interrupted, and they have since stopped permitting them in their premises.
