An elderly man has been seen armed with a pair of binoculars and spying on foreign workers relaxing at an open field in Jurong East since the start of the year, according to Shin Min Daily News.
A woman named Huang, spoke to SMDN saying that she has been noticing the man sitting on an overhead bridge with a pair of binoculars and watching the foreign workers, near Block 114 Jurong East Street 13.
She added that the open field is very popular with domestic and migrant workers on Sundays, where they gather for picnics and games.
She says that when she returns to her mother’s place every Sunday, she sees the uncle sitting at the corner of the bridge with his binoculars and watching them.
She also added that he will put down his binoculars whenever someone is passing by.
SMDN spoke of some of the foreign workers, who were aware that the man was watching them, and they told the Chinese paper that the man doesn’t appear when it is raining.
The elderly man in question, spoke to SMDN and said that he was not peeping as the field is a public space.
