S’PORE NCPC DELETES AMBER HEARD MEME AFTER CRITICISM

The National Crime Prevention Council Singapore posted a meme onto their Facebook page on 26 May to raise awareness about scammers.

The post utilized a meme of alleged abuser Amber Turd Heard, who is being sued by her ex-husband Johnny Depp for defamation.

The meme encompasses one of the seemingly ridiculous statement that Heard gave in court during her testimony, that her dog had stepped on a bee, before she forced herself to make a “pained” expression.

The post by NCPC joined in the viral meme (where netizens jumped in with rhyming statements following up on “my dog stepped on a bee”) (see video at bottom of article).

The post drew flak from some netizens, who called out the use of a photo from an ongoing trial for a campaign.
