A boy loses his legs after getting physically abused in a religious school.
The mother of the boy said that the nightmare starts a month ago after his boy started in the school in Jan 2017. After visiting the boy and noticing signs of the boy behaving lethargic and weak. She fears that something might have happened to the boy and requested for the boy to be sent home
“He had begged me to transfer him out, saying he was being abused and could not bear the pain and torture,” said the teary-eyed mother. The boy is the third of five siblings.
Several days later, the boy had a fever while bruises and swelling appeared on his legs.
His aunt Dzuraidah Ahmad, 38, said her nephew complained previously about the beatings, reportedly by an assistant warden.
“My nephew said that sometimes, he and his friends would even volunteer to get beaten first as they wanted to go to bed early since they had to wake up at 3 am for prayers,” she claimed.
Doctors said both legs could not be saved as blood cells and tissues were destroyed due to a bacterial infection.
