It has been reported a 38-year-old man was sentenced to 27 months of jail time and 4 strokes of the rotan. The incident happened on 2nd of August 2016 at 2.30am.

Benjamin Tan Jook Min followed a girl while walking along Havelock Road. Initially, He hid behind an advertising board at a bus stop and waited for his chance. While the victim was digging through her bag for her handphone. Benjamin put on his work gloves and started his misdeed. He covered the victim mouth with his hand and molested the woman after struggling with the victim.
The woman managed to break free by hitting him with her bag.
Two days later Benjamin was arrested.
