10TH MONKEYPOX CASE IN SINGAPORE

Singapore reported the 10th monkeypox case on Tuesday 26 July 2022.

According to Straits Times, 1 more imported case of monkeypox case in Singapore has been reported by the Ministry of Health (MOH). A 28-year-old Taiwanese man who lives in Singapore and had recently returned to Singapore from Canada.

This case was not linked to any previously reported case in Singapore.

The man developed symptoms such as headache, muscle aches, pain and fever on 22 July 2022 and had sought medical attention on Tuesday 26 July 2022.

He was found to have a rash around his butt area and was admitted to National Centre for Infectious Diseases on the same day.

On Saturday 23 July 2022, World Health Organization (WHO) declared the monkeypox outbreak as a global Public Health Emergency.

Monkeypox symptoms include; spots, ulcers, rash on the body but mostly in the private area. Pain and swollen lymph. Headache, muscle aches, exhaustion, chills and fever.
