TikTok user @winnia.jie shared a hack (of sorts) on how to get cheaper flight tickets, onto her TikTok page.
Using a Singapore-Bali flight as an example, she shared a step-by-step tutorial on how to save up to $40 on a one-way ticket to Bali.
She said that the key is to not book tickets from your home country’s Skyscanner website (ending with a .sg), with the price for a ticket from Singapore to bail costing $219.
Instead, she changed the website address to .id, using the Skyscanner Indonesia website instead for the same travel dates and times.
The resulting price for the same exact ticket was $179, which is $40 cheaper.
A netizen who worked for an airline previously, commented on the video and confirmed that the trick is indeed “legit”.
However, some users tried the “hack” and purportedly got even more expensive tickets, so it might work for some and it might not.
But it’s something worth trying, nothing to lose here.
