M’SIAN MAN SAYS S’PORE CAI PNG CHEAPER THAN JB FOOD, ONLY SGD$2.70 (RM11)

A Malaysian man claimed that the Cai Png (economy rice) in Singapore is cheaper that what is being sold in Johor Bahru, and that he eats in Signapore before returning to JB.

The man’s claims has sparked conversations and discussions between citizens of the two countries, what with the current SGD$1 to RM3 currency conversion rate at the moment.

The man posted a photo of his Cai Png onto a Facebook group, and said that his meal which consists of a plate of rice with tofu and meat only set him back SGD$2.70 (or RM11).

He asked if there were other people like him who have their meals here in Singapore first before returning to their home in JB after work.

Some netizen replied and said that for the same food that the man ordered in Singapore, it would cost upwards of SGD$3.55 (or RM12) in Malaysia.

Editor’s note: This writer personally hasn’t found any economy rice stalls that sells Cai Png for $2.70, so if any netizens are willing to share the location of the stall, you will be my hero forever.
