A 29-year-old police officer allegedly shot himself to death outside the Marina Bay Sands shopping mall, after firing two shots in the air, according to Lianhe Zaobao.
A police spokesperson said that the deceased was a police officer from the Central Police Division, and he was found with a gunshot wound.
The incident happened along 1 Bayfront Avenue 1 on 19 September at about 9.44am, and a firearm was also seized.
The deceased was reportedly sent to the hospital unconscious and later succumbed to his injuries.
The Singapore Police Force are currently investigating, and according to their preliminary investigations, they do not suspect foul play.
