Two alleged thieves were running away from the police at Bedok when one of the suspects reportedly attempted to climb up the walls of a HDB building while trying to flee the cops.
The Spider-man wannabe ended up being arrested because he failed to climb up the building because he didn’t have the same superpowers as Peter Parker.
Shin Min Daily News reported that the incident took place on 17 September at Block 203 Bedok North Street 1.
The police were chasing the two youths in relation to a suspected case of theft when the two suspects then panicked and decided the best court of action was to climb onto a ledge on the second floor of the building.
A resident who lives on the 3rd floor of the HDB building spoke to SMDN and said that she was resting at home when she heard shouts emanating from outside her flat’s window.
She glanced outside and saw two youths standing on the outside ledge of the wall on the second floor, with several police officers below them on the ground floor.
The SCDF were also seen at the scene, along with ambulances.
The two suspects then knocked on windows of different units, hoping with futility that one of the residents would allow them in.
After getting no response from the residents, one of the suspects jumped off the ledge and fled, leaving behind his partner in crime to face the music himself.
The 3rd floor resident (mentioned above) then closed her window immediately, afraid of the possibility that the “abandoned” suspect who was still on the ledge would make his way onto her unit on the 3rd floor.
The suspect was later arrested at about 6pm.
