A video emerged online showing a CCTV footage of a worker being hit by a lorry while he was fumigating a building at Woodlands.
The worker who works as an exterminator, Mohd Alem, shared footage of the incident onto Facebook on 4 October, captioning it in Malay “who is at fault here? I lose a vertebra because of this and almost died from surgery, according to the doctors”.
The incident purportedly happened on 19 August 2022, according to the timestamp on the video and showed the man in black surveying the premises before starting to fumigate the area.
Smoke was seen billowing from a drain near the gantry of the carpark, which then spread as a lorry approached the gantry.
The driver of the lorry then drove forward, and was not aware of the presence of the worker who was walking in the same direction in front of the lorry.
As the thick smoke billowed, the driver was not able to see the worker in front of him, and the lorry then hit the worker.
The victim was then sent flying sideways and fell onto the ground.
