52-year-old Woo May Hoe, had allegedly pretended to be an Indian goddess and made her devotees consume faeces, according to TODAY.
Among her victims include a 43-year-old, whom she is being accused of pulling out her teeth and pouring essential oils into her eye.
Woo was served with 40 additional charges on 6 October and is facing 50 charges in total, including cheating, causing hurt by means of a harmful substance, as well as causing grievous hurt.
Woo has been remanded since October 2020, when she faced her first 10 charges, and had another 40 charges brought against her last week.
The number of her alleged victims has also increased from 8 to at least 14.
Woo had allegedly forced 5 people to swallow human faeces as their “punishment” while she was pretending to be an Indian goddess.
She is also being charged with cheating several victims out of millions of dollars, with the money supposedly for her to buy them cows as a form of a donation to cleanse the victims of their “sins”, and improve their health and their parents’ health.
One of the victims had given Woo $500,000 for the above reasons, as well as another $2.5 million between 2013 and 2015, after Woo said she needed money for a “Balaji” temple in Vellore Village, India.
Woo then demanded funds to expand a school at the Vellore Village in India, and the victim gave her another $3.5 million.
Woo then targeted the same victim again, this time cheating her of $12,000 in 2020 by saying she needed to settle her debts with loan sharks in Malaysia after borrowing money from them for a landed property at Bedok Road.
Woo is also being charged with conspiring to cheat banks into disbursing mortgage loans of between $185,000 to $4.6 million for several properties.
She is also being charged with assaulting a 43-year-old woman by making her jump from the 2nd storey of Ubi Techpark, resulting in the victim fracturing both her ankles.
SHe also extracted the victim’s tooth using pliers, stabbed her forearm with scissors, used canes to hit the victim’s vase and injure her eye, used a paint roller brush to hit the victim in the head and head and resulting in her little finger fracturing.
She also used an “Isagenix” bottle and hit the victim on the head as well as twisted her ear, causing bleeding; pouring essential oils into the woman’s eye and resulting in a “corneal abrasion”, telling another woman to yank out her teeth and using a mop to hit her backside.
Woo is scheduled to return to court on 17 November for a pre-trial conference and is currently in remand, with her bail being set at $200,000.
