TikTok user Clara Chen (@lifeonthe17th) shared a video of her family bidding their maid of 20 years goodbye as she returned to her life in Indonesia.
Captioning her video, Chen said “we love you and you will always be a part of us” and her family threw a gathering for their maid, Anik.
The family then presented her with a custom-made trophy that said “20 year long service”, which Anik accepted as she thanked the family for being her second family.
The matriarch of the family then thanked Anik for taking care of her children for 20 years and watching them grow up, saying ‘thank you very much for your service to the house, and for taking care of my children from small until now.”
Anik then broke into tears as the family consoled her before they gathered for one last family photo.
The next shot of the family showed them bidding her farewell at the airport, as Chen said “I won’t cry so much because I know we will meet again.”
Anik then returned home to Indonesia with her sister who had also worked in Singapore for 22 years.
