Boss sides with me but now the aunties in the office hates me
I work together with Sarah (fake name obviously). So she and I clashed recently because I refused to swap shifts with her anymore. She used to always talk me into swapping with her so that she can go home early and spend the evening with her kids.
At first I was okay with it but now I’m not.
Especially cause my parents miss me having dinner with them. It’s the only time of the day that everyone is home. I brought it up with my boss and he’s okay with it as long as someone is working then.
Anyway since she’s the one with the social pull at work, now all the aunties hate me and think I spend my evenings going to clubs or something (from what another colleague tells me).
Those who are more even minded have spoken to me and agree that I’m fine and she’s overstepping her boundaries.
She doesn’t see that as a mother she wants to spend time with a kid. As a kid I also want to spend time with my mother.
Whatever la anyway I just talk to less people in the office. Boss know I’m okay can already.
