A group of YPs got drunk and filmed themselves allegedly entering Night Safari after its operating hours and going into the animal enclosures, posting the video onto TikTok to show off.
The video was posted online back in October and quickly went viral, gaining traction on social media, before the group deleted the video.
Mandai Wildlife Group told Channel NewsAsia on 3 January that they have lodged a police report about the incident.
They said that they have been following the incident since it was first published, and have reviewed the matter internally before the police report was lodged.
The Singapore Police Force is currently investigating.
The 4 YPs were seen in the video buying alcohol before heading to Night Safari, as they captioned their video “we got drunk and went to an animal safari in Singapore.”
One of them was seen petting an animal in its enclosure while another tried to climb up one of the rocks at the safari.
MWG said that their first priority was the welfare of their animals after the video surfaced, and added that the animals are safe and well.
