23 Y.O DRIVER LOST CONTROL & CRASHED INTO TREE @ JURONG WEST, ARRESTED FOR DRINK-DRIVING

A 23-year-old driver was arrested for drink-driving after losing control of his car along Jurong West and crashing into a tree in the wee hours of 8 February.

The car ended up completely wrecked and was towed away from the accident site.

Shin Min Daily News reported that the 23-year-old driver was arrested for drink-driving and that police investigations into the incident are ongoing.

The Chinese paper reported that the accident occurred on 8 February at about 3am, somewhere along Jurong West Central 1.

The alleged drink-driver was believed to have crashed into a tree at the side of the road after the bus stop at Block 691A.

The impact was so great that the hood and bumper of the car were completely wrecked, as well as sustaining a cracked windshield and a dented passenger door.

Remnants of the wrecked car and uprooted trees were also seen strewn all over the road.

There was also reportedly one passenger in the car at the time, which was later towed away – a traffic police officer was also seen on site.

The Singapore Police Force confirmed that they were alerted to the accident on 8 February at about 3.14am, and a 23-year-old male driver was arrested for suspected drink-driving.

No injuries were reported from the incident.
